Atralia Sugar Mallow Pink Cloud 100ml: Fruit With a Dry Edge
Expecting marshmallow from the name? You will not find it here. This 100ml eau de parfum is built around red fruit and soft flowers, and its sweetness is far more restrained than the name suggests.
Pink Cloud Fragrance Notes
- Top Notes: Blackcurrant, Bergamot, Pear.
- Middle Notes: Wild Strawberry, Orange Blossom, Violet, Melon.
- Base Notes: Ambroxan, Moss, Jasmine, Caramel.
Following the scent from first spray to drydown
Strawberry and blackcurrant come first, with a jammy ripeness on the strawberry and a tart, slightly green edge on the blackcurrant. Pear adds a juicy, watery note, and bergamot stops the opening from tipping into syrup.
Wild strawberry returns in the heart, so the fruit stays present once the flowers arrive. Violet brings a powdery, faintly sweet quality rather than a garden-flower one. Orange blossom and melon add a crisp floral lift and a cool, watery touch.
The base turns the fruit drier. Caramel supplies a warm, sugared depth, while jasmine, dry woods and moss sit underneath. Moss in particular adds an earthy, faintly bitter streak that tempers the sugar.
Why a dry base matters here
Many pink fruity scents end on plain sweetness and then fade into nothing. Here the dry woods, moss and bitter green thread give the scent a finish rather than just a sweet trail. Violet is the note most people react to, so it is worth checking how you feel about powdery florals before you buy.
Choosing between the two Sugar Mallows
The two bottles share a line name and little else. Pink Cloud is the fruit-led one, with strawberry, pear and blackcurrant up front and violet through the middle. The original Sugar Mallow is the proper dessert fragrance: marshmallow and strawberry at the start, creamy vanilla and coconut in the middle, and cotton candy with sugar cane at the end.
Pink Cloud suits anyone who wants fruit with a dry finish. The original if marshmallow is the point. The names do not make that distinction clear, so the notes have to do it.
Where it works, and where it does not
Pick it for a sweet fruity scent that does not feel childish. The moss and dry woods give it enough structure for the office, which many pink fruity fragrances cannot offer.
Spring and autumn are its best seasons. Fruit and caramel grow heavier in real heat, while the moss keeps things pleasant on cooler days.
Do not buy it hoping for marshmallow, because the blend does not contain any. Skip it if powdery notes put you off. Violet runs through the middle, and people tend either to love it or to want it gone.
