RASASI

Abdul Razzak Kalsekar opened a single perfume shop in Murshid Bazar, Deira, in 1979. Moreover, he came from the Indian subcontinent with one goal: build a fragrance house, not just another attar stall. His six sons joined the business. Each took a specialised role. Furthermore, in 1986 father and son Siraj spotted a Jafza billboard on the highway to Abu Dhabi. They wrote the details on a scrap of paper. That scrap became a 5,000 square metre factory. Consequently, Rasasi now operates 165 stores across the GCC and exports to over 90 countries. Blue Lady became the first successful Western-style fragrance from an Arabic house. The Hawas line built a modern masculine following. However, what defines Rasasi is continuity.
Three generations now run the business. Grandsons Omeir and Talha Kalsekar lead the new chapter under the “Rasasi Perfumes 1979” rebrand. As a result, this is a 45-year family legacy that still makes its own perfumes in its own factory. Explore Rasasi at Oudora.
