Oud comes from Aquilaria trees infected with a specific mould. Moreover, only about 2% of these trees produce it naturally. Genuine oud wood sells for thousands of euros per kilogram. That makes it one of the most expensive raw materials in perfumery. However, most oud in modern compositions is synthetic. Oud accords built in a laboratory can smell convincing, rich, and long-lasting without the extreme cost. Furthermore, at our price points, that is what you should expect. We do not pretend otherwise.
